❄️ Polar Conferences 2024

21 – 29 March 2024 – Edinburgh, Scotland, UK – Arctic Science Summit Week (ASSW) 2024. 

The International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) is pleased to announce the availability of funding to attend the ASSW 2024. Partial funding is available to cover the travel costs and / or registration fee for attending the ASSW 2024 either on-site or online for Early career researchers up to 5 years past their final degree with an Arctic research focus (an allowance will be made for career breaks such as parental leave). The application deadline is on 15 December 2023 at 13:00 GMT and recipients will be informed by early January 2024.

16-18 April 2024 – Managing Marine Ecosystems in a Rapidly Warming Arctic Third International Conference 

On Ecosystem Approach to Management (EA) in the Arctic Large Marine Ecosystems (LMEs). The conference venue is Fram Center, Tromsø, Norway. ECRs are invited to take part and share their work/perspectives!

23 April 2024 – NL Polar Day 2024 (formerly the Dutch Polar Symposium).

7-18 May 2024 – The Southern Ocean Summer School

14-15 May 2024 – EU Arctic Forum and Indigenous Peoples’ Dialogue

Brussels, Belgium.

29 May – 2 June 2024– Arctic Congress 2024 Bodø.

The conference combines the UArctic Congress 2024, the High North Dialogue 2024, and the International Congress of Arctic Social Sciences (ICASS XI). Tip: In 2024, Bodø is the European Capital of Culture.

08-09 June 2024– 8th IPTRN Sweden

The 8th IPTRN conference and community tour will take place from 5th – 9th June 2024, starting and ending in Luleå, Swedish Lapland. The event will be mobile, meaning that we travel through a few different locations in the region, holding paper presentation sessions as well as engaging with tourism stakeholders in local communities and conducting field trips. We pride ourselves on the local connections we make in the communities we visit, and strive to use the meetings for mutual sharing and learning.

3-6 September 2024 – European Polar Science Week

Copenhagen, Denmark.

28-29 November 2024 – Conference on Arctic and Antarctic Science Cooperation in a Changing World

Tallinn, Estonia. The event is organized by the Estonian Polar Club for their 40th anniversary.
