On March 3rd, Christian and Rúna put their autographs under the statutes of the newly established foundation (“stichting” in Dutch) “APECS Netherlands”. While we have been around for a while as a National Committee of APECS, our new legal status will hopefully strengthen our position as a network for early career polar researchers in the Netherlands. With our ANBI status we will be able to receive donations. We hope to be better able to engage in collaborations, receive funding and thereby serve and promote the young polar research community in the Netherlands.

We will continue to comply with all guidelines for national committees of APECS and look forward to work with them under a memorandum of understanding.
