Dear polar researchers,

For several years now, the Dutch delegation to the annual Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting (ATCM) has invited 2-3 early (or mid-) career scientists to be part of the NL delegation. This year, the ATCM will be held in Hiroshima, Japan, from 11 to 21 May 2026. We are pleased to draw researchers’ attention to this opportunity through this e-mail. A more detailed explanation can be found in the attached registration form.

This invitation is intended for PhD candidates, postdocs, and researchers who obtained their PhD no more than seven years ago and are engaged in Antarctic research. The costs of travel and lodging will not be covered by the Dutch delegation. Interested parties should complete the application form and return it (as a PDF) to Mr. Ids van der Iest ([email protected]) by 8 March 2026.

The Dutch ATCM delegation is looking forward to welcoming enthusiastic scientists to the delegation and being able to broaden their perspectives.
