
As you might have noticed in the news, temperatures in the Arctic are exploding at the moment. Extreme warm temperatures are being measured and while November normally is the peak month for sea ice growth, currently the sea ice extent is declining.
Scientists from all over the world are worried about the recent developments and are ringing the alarm bells.
One of our own APECS Netherlands mentors and Arctic researcher, Maarten Loonen (Arctic population ecologist at University of Groningen) got interviewed by the ‘Algemeen Dagblad’ to give his opinion on the recent developments in the Arctic.
