The NL Polar Day 2024, co-organized with NWO (Dutch Research Council), brought together scientists, policy makers, and other professionals engaged in activities in Antarctica and the Arctic and was a great success!

Once again, we had a day full of informative and inspiring talks, keynotes, discussions, networking opportunities, and many posters. APECS NL was glad to represent and support Early Career Scientists in Museon-Omniversum in The Hague and see many people connecting and sharing the same passion for the polar regions! We were also happy to collaborate with APECS France, of which board members were invited to join the event.

We concluded the day with an informal evening event for early career scientists at a nearby café, where we played a social bingo to break the ice! The atmosphere was lively and fun, and we were happy to see new connections formed between the attendees and our association’s board.

We are thrilled to announce that we will host the NL Polar Day again next year. We look forward to welcoming polar researchers, educators, and all those who share our passion for polar regions and the wider cryosphere! We hope to see you there!
